Accessibility
The Province of Ontario released Provincial legislation called the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) in 2005. The County and the Member Municipalities must meet the requirements of accessibility standards including:
- Customer Service
- Information and Communications
- Employment
- Transportation
- Design of Public Spaces
The Municipality of North Perth is responsible for filing a bi-annual Accessibility Compliance Report with the Provincial Government. Members of the public may request a copy of the Municipality of North Perth Accessibility Compliance Report by contacting the Clerk's Office.
Policies and Plans
To help us meet the requirements of the AODA, North Perth has created:
- A Corporate Accessibility Policy
- Multi-Year Accessibility Plan and Annual Status Update
- A Procurement Policy that considers accessibility when buying or acquiring goods, services, or facilities.
- Training plans to ensure that all employees, volunteers, and other persons are trained in the accessibility standards and the Ontario Human Rights Code.
- Perth County Joint Accessibility Plan
