  • Statement on recent Pride Flag Vandalism in North Perth

    The Municipality of North Perth has been made aware of two incidents at a local business, involving vandalism and mischief of Pride flags and private property.

    The Municipality of North Perth has retained Watson & Associates Economists Ltd. in association with Dr. Robert J. Williams to conduct a comprehensive and independent Council Composition and Ward Boundary Review. This review will try to identify fair and equitable electoral ward boundaries for the 2026 municipal election and beyond.

  • A 3.6% Property Tax impact for a residential property in North Perth

    At the North Perth Council Meeting held on Monday, May 1, 2023, the Council of the Municipality of North Perth approved the 2023 Capital and Operating Budget. The budget addresses the need to support important municipal services, meet the service expectations of our citizens, and invest in current and future infrastructure and asset needs, while limiting tax increases.

  • North Perth introduces Additional Residential Units Registration program

    At the April 17, 2023 regular Council meeting, North Perth Council approved the implementation of the Additional Residential Unit (ARU) Registration program. The purpose of the program is to promote consumer safety, as well as ensure ARUs are known to Emergency Services.

    In celebration of National Poetry Month, the North Perth Public Library hosted its first ever Youth Poetry Contest. The contest called for submissions from three age groups (grades k-4, 5-8, and high school) surrounding the theme of joy.

  • North Perth begins water meter upgrade project with Neptune Technology Group

    The Municipality of North Perth will begin installing new water meters as part of a major upgrade project on April 24, 2023. The new meters, along with a new reading collection system, will collect faster, near real-time information about individual water consumption. This will enable customers to manage and conserve water use and help detect water leaks within individual properties.

  • Fire Departments in Perth County, Stratford and St. Marys announce agreement with GFL Environmental

    Fire Departments in Perth County, Stratford and St. Marys have entered into a contract agreement with GFL Environmental for the provision of emergency and hazardous material response and/or clean-up services.

    The Council of the Municipality of North Perth has identified the enhancement of diversity, equity and inclusion in the North Perth community, municipal services and decision-making as a key priority. Earlier this year, Council adopted an adapted version of the Perth County Diversity, Equity and Anti-Racism Charter and established a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Advisory Committee.

    At the North Perth Budget Meeting held on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, the Council of the Municipality of North Perth gave direction to staff to move forward with the 2023 Draft Budget, as present by Councillor Lee Anne Andriessen The draft budget represents a 3.6 percent property tax impact for the average residential and agricultural property in North Perth.
